A FAMILY whose pet dog was rescued from a fire in their home said they have overwhelmed by offers of support from the Ross-on-Wye community.

Kelly Winterbottom put out an appeal on the Ross-on-Wye Noticeboard on Facebook for help to find temporary accommodation following a fire at her home in Tudor Rise, Ross.

Their dog, Jazz, was rescued by firefighters at 1.20pm on November 30 and was given oxygen at the scene.

Kelly wrote on Facebook that they were looking for somewhere to rent for five to six months while their home was refurbished.

She was inundated with messages of support and offers of help.

Kelly wrote: “We are completely overwhelmed by everybody's kindness. We have a little girl aged two and a little boy aged six. They are dealing with it so well, we're super proud of them.

“We're ok, we've got amazing family support- we're super lucky. Thank you so much for your kindness. It’s really appreciated.”

Kelly said they are insured and all of their contents will be replaced.
