THE route for Herefordshire’s inaugural single-lap marathon has been revealed.
Runners have the chance to be a part of history by tackling the 26.2 mile course, which is the pinnacle of the newly launched Hereford Festival of Running, which also features a half-marathon, 10K and 5K runs.
They all take place at Hereford Leisure Centre on Sunday, May 14, with all funds raised going to St Michael’s Hospice.
The circular marathon course takes runners north through Tillington and onto Weobley, returning to the city via Sarnesfield, Mansel Lacy and Credenhill. The marathon route, pictured left, is a challenging course that should only be tackled by experienced runners and will be limited to 100 entrants.
Matt Ashcroft, hospice events manager, said: “Runners have the chance to be a part of history by tackling the county’s first ever single-lap marathon.”
