MONEY is on its way to three charities after more than 80 rafters took part in an event on the River Wye.

Newlyweds Adam and Layla Coomber, of Vikings Raft Team, were two of those who took part in the Mad-Dash event – wearing full wedding attire after getting married just the day before.

The event in July was raising money for St. Michael’s Hospice, the Guide Dogs Association and Herefordshire Heartstart.

Organised by MadSat Raft Team, the Mad-Dash event featured two races – a novice race and a second for more experienced crews.

Trophies were awarded by the Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Jim Kenyon

The event raised £615 which will be split between the three charities.

Plans are also already underway for next years’ event on July 24.
