LEDBURY Town started life in the new Herefordshire FA County League Premier Division with a 4-2 win against Orleton Colts.

Orleton struck the first blow before goals from Pat Morgan and Dwayne Tyndale put Town 2-1 ahead at the break.

New signing Ricky Buckland gave Town a two-goal cushion before Orleton reduced arrears to set up a tense finale.

However, Town substitute Charlie Jones cemented the hosts’ win with his first touch with five minutes remaining.

A brace from James Holland led Westfields Reserves to a comfortable 3-0 win at Leominster Town, while Josh Whitfield-Cochrane was also on target for the city club.

Nathan Scotford and Peter Wall were among the scorers in Hereford Lads Club’s Reserves’ 4-2 triumph at Holme Lacy, while Aaron Finch and Blake Steadman netted in Bartestree’s 4-2 home defeat to Hinton.

Elsewhere, Ewyas Harold eased to a 4-0 home win against Pegasus Juniors Reserves and Fownhope chalked up a comfortable 3-0 success at Wellington Reserves. Widemarsh Sinkum have withdrawn from the league.
