A HAT-TRICK from Cory Hyde fired Pegasus Juniors to a thrilling 5-3 win against Black Country Rangers in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

The Hereford club fought back from a 3-2 interval deficit to seal the points at Old School Lane.

Pegasus opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Ben Price’s cross fell to Hyde who drove the ball home.

Rangers levelled through Montel Brown before Luke Griffiths latched on to a pass from Hyde to restore the hosts’ lead.

But Rangers hit back, Jason Chilton curling a shot past Ian Havard and then Joe Wilcox nipping in to put the visitors 3-2 ahead.

Hyde drew Pegasus level 16 minutes after the break following good work from Josh Hunt and the hosts regained the advantage through Hunt after neat play from Callum Craddock.

Pegasus completed the scoring soon afterwards when Price raced into the area and rounded the goalkeeper before rolling the ball to Hyde to seal his hat-trick.

Wellington were made to pay for missed chances in a 1-1 draw at Dudley Town.

Paul Jones, Matt Williams and Nick Britton all failed to convert opportunities in the first half.

Dudley broke the deadlock with 25 minute remaining before Paul Jones set up Aaron Morgan to level. Luke Winter then powered over a shot at the death.
