A CAMPAIGN has been launched to grant a terminally ill Star Wars fan his last wish to see the newest film in the franchise.

Neil Hanvey, 36, has been a fan of Star Wars all his life and the first present he can remember receiving from his parents was a gigantic model of the Millennium Falcon.

When he was told in April that he only had six to eight months to live, he realised he would not get to see the new Star Wars film Rogue One which is due to be released later this year.

Amy Duncan, a health care assistant at St Michael's Hospice who is caring for Mr Hanvey, decided to do everything she could to make his dream of seeing the film happen.

She wrote a Facebook post calling for people to support her campaign by using the hashtag #rogueonewish and this has now been shared more than 1,300 times.

She has even had a message from Industrial Light and Magic, one of the special effect companies working on the new film.

To help, use the hashtag ‪#‎rogueonewish‬ on social media.
