LAST week saw the official opening of The Courtyard Costume Store by Deputy Mayor Cllr Sharon Michael.

The event was attended by representatives from local theatres and schools, with guests invited to try on pieces and learn about the history of different items.

Last year The Courtyard took on the costumes from the former Hereford County Costume Store and combined them with its own existing stock. This has created a resource of around 8,000 costumes and accessories available to schools, community groups and local theatres to hire for performances.

“We are so pleased to see these beautiful costumes once again available for our local community to use and look forward to seeing them on stage very soon,” said costume co-ordinator Nigel Holloway.

The Becket Bulmer Fund and Glencora Fund of Herefordshire Community Foundation have generously supported the Courtyard Costume Store by providing its laundry facilities.
