THE aircraft hangar at Bromesberrow proved to be an excellent venue to stage a truly marvellous performance of the opera, La Boheme by Puccini.

This tragic tale of love and loss yet with passion and humour was set in four acts in which the finale had the audience reaching for their hankies.

The brilliant ensemble from Regents Opera played their parts convincingly with wonderful singing and acting, speedy scene changes reminiscent of the Globe Theatre.

Prior to the performance a mime artist mingled with the audience raising funds in aid of the Butterfly Garden.

Based in Cheltenham, this is an educational gardening and land skills project for those with learning difficulties or disabilities.

The aim is to offer diverse, stimulating and purposeful opportunity to people dealing with disablement of any kind.

Delivering a service which offers education, recreation and therapy, in an environment that the individual finds comfortable.

Member of the audience, local man Nick Winter, said "A huge vote of thanks to The Hon Dr Greenall and his team for staging this magnificent event which we have all enjoyed and look forward to the next opera weekend in 2018."
