A NINE-year-old girl who had eight inches of her long locks cut off met the founder of the Herefordshire charity she donated her hair to.

Jazmine-Louise Bentley, from Hereford, decided to follow her mum's lead and have her hair cut for the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Jazmine had her hair cut at Salon 100 on Grandstand Road.

Her mum, Suzanne Bentley, said: "She was quite nervous before but said when she had it cut she said there are children out there who have not got hair and hers would grow and theirs would not.

"I'm very proud of her."

Jazmine also helped raise £432 for the charity by getting her school, Trinity Primary School, involved.

Pupils each paid £1 to take part in a messy hair day during the school's world culture week.

And last week, charity founder Wendy Tarplee-Morris visited the school to talk about the work the charity does and to give Jazmine a certificate.

Ms Bentley added: "I think she has inspired others to consider doing the same."
