A 48-YEAR-old man punched his neighbour in a street in Leominster before dragging him to the floor.

Kevin Biddle of Falconer Place, Leominster had been neighbours with Brian Morris for more than 20 years.

But Hereford Magistrates Court heard there had been various issues between the two including a complaint of assault in 2014 upon Mr Morris, which was dealt with by way of a community resolution.

Owen Beale, prosecuting, said on March 5 Mr Morris was walking through Black Swan Lane in Leominster at the same time as Biddle, who said to him, "What did you say Brian?"

Mr Morris ignored him but Biddle followed him into West Street, where Biddle stopped him and punched him to the right side of his face.

Biddle then grabbed him by the shoulders and dragged him to the ground, before a member of the public intervened. It was all caught on CCTV.

Mr Morris had bruising and swelling to his eye and a cut to the back of his head, which had to be glued by paramedics.

Biddle pleaded guilty to assault by beating.

Chris Read, defending, said Biddle was very surprised when he watched the CCTV.

The sentencing was adjourned until July 8 for a probation report.
