LOCAL Presteigne bike club Celtic Dragons recently held a 'weekend wedding party in the yard' where one of their members, Kelvin Hammonds got married.

The event which was spread over a weekend was open to everyone. There was live music and chairman Phil Greenham and his wife Pam, who is treasurer, opened their own bar, The Woodcutters Arms at their home and club headquarters at Knighton Road in Presteigne.

The event raised a grand total of £1226 which was donated to the Wales Air Ambulance charity. Phil and Pam were helped by club vice chairman Steve Trafford and club members Sue Trafford, Shane Cunningham, Moose, Kelvin Hammonds, Ted Jones and Gavin Hatherall. The club would like to thank everyone who attended the weekend or helped to make it such a success.

Celtic Dragons are busy arranging another fundraising 'party in the yard' event at The Woodcutters Arms on August 19-20. This time all proceeds will go to St Michael's Hospice.
