ROADS with a royal feel in Kington held street parties in celebration of The Queen's 90th birthday.

Residents aged from two to 92 gathered on Coronation Road and Elizabeth Road as part of the national celebrations earlier this month.

A bring and share tea party was held on Coronation Road but wet weather forced the celebrations indoors where a special cake was cut.

On Elizabeth Road gazebos were supplied to keep guests dry. Residents sang the national anthem before having a tea party.

The eldest and longest residing resident Leslie Powell, aged 92, cut the commemorative cake and each child was presented with a boxed commemorative mug.

Gemma Sankey and Malcolm Hughes took to the stage as guest entertainers with a selection of songs which was followed by an impromptu solo performance by 11-year-old Thalia Morgan.

Residents sang karaoke into the night despite the grey skies.
