HEREFORDSHIRE dignitaries joined senior military figures to raise a special flag marking the start of Armed Forces Week.
County Lord-Lieutenant Lady Darnley was one of those who attended the flag raising ceremony at Hereford Shirehall on Monday and said it represents all our “armed forces, regulars
and reservists, past and present, as well as members of the Royal British Legion, the cadets and those that lead them”.
Armed Forces Day will be taking place today in Ledbury High Street from 10am.
Soldiers of yesteryear will be recalled by living history groups and a band will entertain the public, along with choral and brass ensembles.
The parade takes place from 2.30pm until 3.30pm.
