LAST month saw Brookfield Vets open their doors for all to see behind the scenes.

The plan was to show the pet owners of Hereford all the different updated services they have on offer.

But youngsters wanted more, Ellie Wear and Millie Thomas, both aged five years got heavily involved.

Once they had visited the "dressing up" corner they were ready to save lives.

Sarka Wear, mother to Ellie commented "They loved dressing up and trying out all the surgery equipment, especially looking at a flea through the microscope and extracting lollipops via laparoscopy."

Other activities included Paws for Thought Dog display team giving an attack dog demonstration.

Katy, head nurse at Brookfield, was in the exotics pet corner showing off the Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches. Most of the exotics were provided by Holme Lacy College. Although the three wonderfully friendly, fabulous furry ferrets were Katy's own.

The day was also raising funds for two of the county's rescue charities - The Sapphire trust sapphiretrustrescuepets.wordpress.com/ and Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue hwanimalrescue.org/ both of whom were there with information on pets awaiting new forever homes.
