A MAN and his dog were rescued by firefighters after they fell down a river bank.
The alarm was raised at 3.30pm on Sunday afternoon by a man who fell down a sheer embankment by the river at The Scar Rock between Bredwardine and Staunton-on-Wye.
The line rescue teams from Malvern rescued a collie dog called Ernie and a boat team from Hereford were called to rescue the male from the river bank.
Crews from Peterchurch and Eardisley also attended.
The ambulances service attended but the male was injured and said he did not want to go to hospital so he was discharged at the scene.
