A MUCH-changed Hereford side lost 40-0 to Bridgnorth in their final game in Midlands 1 West.

The Wyesiders made nine changes from the side that faces Stoke in their previous game and provided debuts for four colts players.

Hereford press officer Rob Davies said, despite conceding six tries, the Wyesiders gave a strong Bridgnorth side a good game.

"They attacked at every opportunity, maintained close to parity in field position and came close to scoring several times," said Davies.

"Nat Thomas and James Watters put in some determined runs, but the physically stronger home team were clinical in their finishing and registered their tries at regular intervals, three in each half.

"The more experienced players helped the youngsters through, stand in skipper Lloyd Willcocks led by example, ably backed up by Jock Welch, Nat Thomas and James Watters. "Ben Osborne, Jamie Humphreys, Gus Lowther, Nathan Boden, Callum Duncan and Ryan Green all put in the whole-hearted performance we always get

"Lagi Wilsoni had his usual strong game in the front row and Fran Jennings had his all action game and gave his vocal chords plenty of exercise.

"Finally, we had the walking wounded, Alex Hickinbotham and Luke Yarranton, who enabled a full squad of eighteen to be fielded."
