ALLAN and Angela Lloyd's voluntary campaign to increase support and awareness of St Michael's Hospice throughout Radnorshire, continues to gain momentum.
Following their visits to Radnorshire churches and chapels, the Lloyd's are now calling at care homes in Knighton, Llandrindod Wells, Presteigne and Rhayader. They remark that the reception received has been warm, sincere and positive, and have been greatly encouraged by the strength of this support.
An example of the welcome they have experienced is illustrated by the length of valuable time spent with Aled Jones, the manager of Crosfield House in Rhayader, then only in his second day in office.
Crosfield House, opened by HRH Princess Anne on June 5, 1986 has the greatest capacity of home care beds than any other care home in Radnorshire. Allan Lloyd said that it was a privilege to have visited this, and all the other care homes throughout mid Wales.
The Lloyds wish to thank all staff and residents they met on these visits to the care homes in Radnorshire, and to all managers for their courtesy and willingness to assist in increasing the awareness of St Michael's Hospice.
An invitation evening at the hospice for people from Radnorshire is being organised for June 23.
