COMMUTERS trying to get into Hereford from the south of the county are facing a miserable journey this morning.
Traffic coming into Hereford on the A49 is backed up as far as The Callow.
Motorists also face queues as far back as Wyevale on the Kings Acre Road, while it's also busy on the A465.
The cause is gas main work on Eign Street in the city centre.
In Victoria Street just before the turning left for Sainsbury's the traffic is reduced to one lane.
Then it is reduced to two lanes out of four just before the roundabout by Debenhams.
It took some commuters one hour and 25 minutes to get from the top of the Callow to the spot where the roadworks are taking place.
