HEREFORD FC's Under 15s marched on the quarter-finals of the JPL Cup after securing a 3-2 win over Birmingham City.

Around 80 spectators saw the Bulls youngsters put on a fine display which started with Joe Mellars giving Hereford the lead early on, before Birmingham responded ten minutes later to make it 1-1.

The visitors then grew in confidence and took the lead when on-rushing Hereford goalkeeper Joe Regan was chipped.

This prompted Hereford to go on the attack and they were rewarded with an equaliser just before half-time when centre back Ben Vanstone went on a run into the Birmingham penalty area, pulling the ball back for Jack Marston to calmly fire into the net.

The second half was a competitive affair with both teams going for the win. Hereford dominated possession and they were rewarded with ten minutes left when Jake Spink received the ball on half way before beating two players and playing a perfectly timed pass to Liam Bishop who slotted the ball into the far bottom corner of the net.

Hereford never looked like conceding after this and they comfortably held on to win the game.
