A DOG friendly caravan park situated in the Golden Valley has been nominated for two awards at the Visit England Awards for Excellence.

Poston Mill Park, in Peterchurch, are in the finals for Holiday Park/Holiday Village of The Year, and the new Dog Friendly Business of The Year awards.

Sarah Jones, who owns Poston Mill with her husband Wayne said: "We are thrilled to be in the finals for the excellence awards, but doubly thrilled to be in two categories.

"There is stiff competition out there and having won the Park of the Year award last year we have proved that we are still on top and our investment and customer service are still at the top of the game.

"We had a mystery shopper stay with his two chocolate labradors Daisy and Murphy, in one of our hire holiday homes assessing us for the Dog Friendly business of the year, and would you believe on the same day the mystery shopper for the Park of the Year award also turned up! “

Poston Mill Park is the only Herefordshire business to be shortlisted as a finalist for the awards dubbed as the “Tourism Oscars”which received over 400 entries across the different categories.

Poston Mill Park is a static caravan holiday home and touring park which offers an extra warm welcome to dogs.

Sarah added: “Dog owners are a major part of our business, and we try to offer them everything they need to make their holiday enjoyable from a dog wash with fur dryer, to 10 acres of fields that the dogs can run freely in and a doggy welcome pack.”

Poston Mill is one of five finalist for the top park award with each receiving either a gold, silver, bronze or highly commended award.

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony next Tuesday at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, during English Tourism Week.

Poston Mill Park is a member of the Best of British touring parks, and also a member of Bestparks Marketing Colaboration.
