TRAFFIC woes for commuters in Hereford are set to get worse from March as Welsh Water announce nine months-worth of work near the city centre.

The water company has sent letters to householders in and around Aylestone Hill announcing they need to replace around 4.5km of water pipes.

There will be two separate teams working, starting in the first week of March, and works are expected to last nine months.

There are going to be two-way traffic lights while they carry out work in Barrs Court Road and Aylestone Hill.

They need to close the following roads while they are working on them:

Esmond Road, Hopton Road, Link Road, Lingen Avenue, Moreland Avenue, Geoffrey Avenue, Bulmer Avenue and Frank Owen Court.
