POLICE have asked residents to consider using timer switches to thwart would-be thieves after a home in Kingsland was broken into.

Between 7.05am and 5.45pm on Thursday January 21, a house was broken into on the outskirts of the village.

West Mercia Police said: "This type of crime is rare in our area but if you are going to be out until the early evening please consider fitting timer switches to lights in your house which indicates someone is home."

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
