A HEREFORD cocktail and pizza bar is here to stay after the first seven months of trading exceeded the owners' expectations.

James and Rich Manning set up The Shack Revolution at the former Dinosaur Market in Bastion Mews last May.

They originally opened as a seven-month pop-up but decided to apply for a permanent licence, which they have been granted.

Rich said: "It is really exciting times. The whole Shack in Hereford was always meant to be a trial.

"We tried it and it has been above and beyond out expectations so we just kept rolling with it and bringing things in and making it more established.

"Before we knew where we were we had got a viable business in itself so we thought, 'Let's keep going.'"

Their landlord also agreed to a long-term lease.

The two Bromyard brothers originally set up The Shack Revolution as a mobile cocktail bar in 2011, which they still run behind the scenes.

Rich said they hope to expand their drinks range in Hereford and offer more craft beers and ciders.

He added: "If all plans go ahead we will have an outside area, which would double our capacity."

And he said the future is bright as they plan to open a second bar in a neighbouring county.

He said: "That is our next project. I never thought we would be saying that."
