A SMALL band of swimmers from Ludlow Swimming Club attended an Open Gala at Hereford - with some excellent results.?Oliver Morgan, Rebecca Morgan, Rosie Corston and Jack Corston all put in a great deal of effort before the event, training hard, and they were rewarded with a series of personal best times.

Oliver Morgan achieved the gold medal in his age group for 50-metres back crawl in a personal best of 34.50 seconds. He also beat his personal best in the 200-metres medley by a massive six seconds, with a time of two minutes, 55.70 seconds.?Jack Corston achieved fifth place in the back crawl 50 metres (31.51 seconds) and sixth place freestyle 200-metres (two mins, 08.33) in the open section, with a first place in his freestyle 200-metres heat, where he swam six seconds quicker than his previous personal best.?Rebecca Morgan also achieved personal best times in 50-metres fly (34.54, silver medal for age group), and 50-metre back crawl (35.22, gold medal) and Rosie Corston swam a 39.97 in her 50-metre back crawl and 32.43 in the 50-metre freestyle, a personal best in both instances.?"I am so proud of the swimmers who attended,” said coach Sandra Burgess. “They trained with dedication and maturity to achieve their goals, and swam really well on the day.

"We are now looking forward to building on this result in the Shropshire County Championships in February.”
