THE judge for the evening was Val Christopher. Val has been involved with dogs for over 50 years, judging a number of breeds, groups and BIS at Open shows. She awards CC's in German Shepherd Dogs and Pomeranians, judging the latter at Crufts 2016. She has titled three Pomeranians, many with Reserve CC's and in the stud book. One Pom exported to the USA became the 1st English bred to attain a US title for over 25 years. Val has also bred two Tibetan Spaniels with their stud book number and a Reserve CC. Previously she has owned and bred Toy Poodles, one winning at the World Show and German Short Haired Pointers.

Val selected Carole Worswick's Miniature long Haired Dachshund - Dolyharp Bizet's Carmen for Best Puppy in Match and Reserve Puppy was Kathy George's Glen of Imaal Terrier - Romainville Razzamatazz and Best Veteran in Match was Ruth Jones' Australian Terrier - Silhill Blue Moon over Wyeafon. Best Adult and Best in Match was Ruth's Australian Terrier - Wilfnbell Girl on Fire via Wyeafon and Reserve Adult was John and Eileen Clare's Wire Haired Dachshund - Bellavins Illustrious.

The years monthly match winners then competed for Breinton Ringcraft Society's Best Dog of the Year 2015.

Val chose Lorraine Carter's Lhasa Apso - Zanamop Trader Jack at Vowchurch for Best Puppy of the Year and Best Veteran of the Year was Jeanette Shepherd's Golden Retriever - Tregeseal Tonic of Beaujean. Best Adult and Best Dog of the Year 2015 was Ruth Jones' Australian Terrier - Wilfnbell Girl on Fire at Wyeafon.

The match was followed by a festive buffet with mulled wine and raffle. The fancy dress competition judged by Chris Norman included a Tinseled Cavalier, a Santa Dachshund, a team of festive Chihuahuas and the winner was Gemma Bradleys Pug - Pugalina Cheekie Charlie dressed as a Christmas tree.

Around the show ring: Annette Latham - Jackson's homebred Miniature Long-haired Dachshund - Urishay Sweet Pea won her crowning CC and Best of Breed at the Dachshund Clb Show.

At the Welsh Corgi Club 90th Anniversary CH Show, Brenda Piears' Cardigan Corgi - Tyci Brenhines Briallen won Limit Bitch and Tyci Myfanwy won Best Veteran Bitch and Best Veteran in Show.

Lorraine Carter's Lhasa Apso - Zanamop Trader Jack at Vowchurch won Reserve Best Puppy in Show at Ludlow Show and Best Puppy in Show at Hereford. Vowchurch Chico Time won Best Veteran in Show at Hereford, Ludlow and the Lhasa Apso Association of South Wales and Southwest.

Ringcraft resumes on January 13 and the next match will be on January 20.
