POLICE investigating an armed robbery in Hereford want to speak to two children.

The robbery occurred at Premier Stores in Kilpeck Avenue, Newton Farm, at 8.30pm on Wednesday, November 11.

As previously reported by the Hereford Times, a man entered the corner shop carrying an object, believed to be a baseball bat, before causing damage within the premises and stealing money from the till.

The suspect, who fled on foot, was believed to be wearing a baseball cap, a balaclava and sunglasses.

West Mercia Police today issued their first public appeal in connection with the incident and said officers would like to speak to a boy - believed to be around eight years-old - who was wearing a red jumper. It is thought he left the shop as the offender entered.

Police are also keen to contact a young girl who was outside the shop when the suspect left.

Anyone else who witnessed the offence, or has any information, should call police on 101, quoting incident number 652S of November 11.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via their website.
