A YOUTH charity volunteer has been recognised with an award for his dedicated work.
Keith Wilding, chairman of trustees of Basement Youth Trust, joined household names from the world of sport last night [Wednesday] at a reception in the House of Lords.
He was recognised as a Community Champion by Barclays Spaces for Sports and the Football Foundation for his services to sport in Ross-on-Wye.
Mr Wilding has worked with Basement Youth Trust for 12 years.
The charity, which provides activities for young people, runs the popular skate park in Ross, which is a Barclays Spaces for Sports facility.
Mr Wilding said: “The funding we received from Barclays and the Football Foundation has helped to improve the lives of a lot of disaffected young people who use the skate park.
"We were able to take on the management of the site and develop youth and recreation programmes throughout the year.”
