KINGTON Golf Club held a very successful summer ball in a beautiful marquee at the home of their president, Sir Andrew Duff Gordon and his wife Lady Evie Duff Gordon at Downton House, Walton.

The ball attended by nearly 400 people raised £12,429.46 which was split equally between Kington Golf Club and St Michael's Hospice in Hereford - the Captains’ Charity for the year. The amount would not have been possible without the support of our generous sponsors Barclays Bank, Tarmac Ltd and Breedon Aggregates together with ticket sales, fantastic auction lots and a raffle.

Niki Scott, chairman of fund raising at Kington Golf Club said, " We would like to thank everyone for their support of this event, our wonderful hosts and to all those who sponsored and donated so many wonderful items for the auction, raffle and the event itself" "We set out to organise a social event and raise a few hundred pounds for the Golf Club and our charity for the year and the response from everyone was overwhelming. To top it off we had the most wonderful evening and raised the profile of Kington Golf Club even higher."

Paddy Nugent, community fundraising manager at St Michael's Hospice said "£6,214.73 is a huge donation and will make a real and lasting difference to the care we can provide."

Guests were Entertained by Mirrorball, DJ Pete Stead and Magician Kiegan Valley.
