BROMYARD welcomed only its third Royal visitor in more than 40 years.

The Duke of Gloucester stopped off in the Herefordshire town last Wednesday when he visited businesses and St Peter's Church before taking part in a walkabout through the town centre.

A wide range of free events were planned to coincide with the visit which saw the Royal, who is 24th in line to the throne, spend more than four hours in Bromyard.

"We have businesses based here which export their products and services worldwide providing unique medical services, fire safety equipment, agricultural sprayers, and more," said Cllr Tony Burt, the Bromyard mayor.

"When I say ‘unique’, that means they do things no-one else in the world does.

"Many of our own townspeople don’t know about these world-beating firms, so this was a chance for both ourselves and our visitors to find out more about what Bromyard offers the world."
