A LOTTERY winner's ex-girlfriend grabbed his testicles during an argument, a court was told this week.

Carla Chamberlain, 24, of Rushcott Barn, Sutton St Nicholas, had been in a relationship with Matt Myles for 10 months when the relationship ended just before he scooped £1million in the EuroMillions raffle.

Hereford Magistrates Court heard the couple decided to "make another go" of their relationship when the millionaire returned from a round-the-world trip after celebrating his April 2014 lottery win.

But, on Boxing Day last year, trouble flared between the pair following a night out in the city.

On returning to Mr Myles' Hereford home in Grenfell Road, St James, Chamberlain saw Mr Myles' phone flash to indicated a Snapchat message from a girl.

“She proceeded to call me various expletives and said she would get her own back,” Mr Myles told the court, adding that she then struck him in the left side of the face and scratched his neck.

He went back out to Saxty's where he said information was passed to him about Chamberlain and, on returning home, he woke her up and asked her to leave, saying he didn't want to be with her anymore.

He said she began to "go crazy" and left the house before returning.

Mr Myles said he then used the palms of his hands to push Chamberlain out of the house and managed to shut her out for a second time.

The court was told the argument went out on to the street where Chamberlain was "shouting at the top of her lungs" about Mr Myles being fat.

Mr Myles told the court that Chamberlain tried to force her way back into the property and, when she realised she couldn't, she 'grabbed' his testicles and pulled him to the floor.

He was then able to lock the door using his housemate’s key and attempted to call her mum but could not get through.

Mr Myles was, he said, on the phone to police when he heard glass smash. He said Chamberlain smashed the first panel of his bay window with her heel.

Chamberlain told the court there had never been any violence before and believed Mr Myles had been drunk.

He had pushed her to the floor, she said, which left her shocked, upset and frightened with both dishing out abuse to each other.

While she was outside crying, Mr Myles came out and said he had slept with 87 girls since they had split up.

He stood over the top of her and she had been flailing her arms to get him away from her which is when she came into accidental contact with his testicles, she said, though was clear she did not hit him at any point.

She thought the damage to the window could have been caused by a recycling bin falling onto it during the commotion.

Philip Cornell, defending, said Mr Myles had exaggerated what had happened. Chamberlain had been fearful, he said, and had been treated "abominably" by her boyfriend. Good character references read out to the court also described Chamberlain, who works as a fitness instructor for Halo Leisure, as friendly, reliable and hard-working.

Magistrates found Chamberlain guilty of two counts of common assault by beating and one count of criminal damage. She was cleared of a further charge of criminal damage after denying all four.

Magistrates said Chamberlain would pay £275 for each of the common assaults and a further £100 for the criminal damage. She was also fined £500 costs and made the subject of a 12-month restraining order.
