THE 75th Gladestry Sheep Dog Trials took place at Court of Gladestry Farm by kind permission of Gill and Steve Watson.

Results of the Friday South Wales Style Open: 1st Steve Lewis and Moss, Elan Valley - 2 points lost; 2nd Venn Davies and Meg, Llanafan - 3 points lost; 3rd Sue Little and Bryn, Norwich - 3 1/2 points lost; 4th Alastair Lyttle and Roy, County Donegal - 4 points lost.

Results of the South Wales Style Novice: 1st Steve Lewis and Moss, Elan Valley - 2 points lost; 2nd Venn Davies and Meg, Llanafan - 3 points lost; 3rd Sue Little and Bryn, Norwich - 3 1/2 points lost.

The well-supported and keenly contested local eight mile radius class was won by Josh Watson with Mirk. Dr P Cleland took second place and Robert Watson was third. Other competitors in the local class were Edward Powell and Tessa Harker. Although she is well known in the dog agility world, this was Tessa's first attempt in a Sheep Dog Trial.

Results Open National: 1st Glyn Howells with Cap, Abernant; 2nd Angie Driscoll with Sue, Carmarthen; 3rd Alastair Lyttle, with Scot, County Donegal; 4th Paul Tomkins with Dash, Llangunllo; 5th Kelvin Broad with Mia, Carmarthen; 6th Yvonne Abrey with Mona, Brecon.

Results Novice National: 1st Alastair Lyttle, with Bug, County Donegal; 2nd Kelvin Broad with Mia, Carmarthen; 3rd Yvonne Abrey with Mona, Brecon; 4th Sue Little with Bryn, Norwich.

Results Under 21's: Gweswyn Davies with Ted, Llangamarch Wells.

The committee would like to thank judges Aurwen Price and Lyn Howells, all 132 competitors for their support, Ridgeway Catering, Sam Bowen and Mr and Mrs S Watson. Thanks to our spectators who came to support the Trials. This year, donations from the event will be given to St Michael's Hospice, RAF Benevolent Fund, Mental Health in Powys, SSAFA and Air Ambulance.
