PEOPLE aged between four and 80 will join together to fight dementia during a memory walk in Hereford.

The charity event will raise money for people with dementia and their carers, as part of the Alzheimer's Society's biggest annual fundraiser.

Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Charles Nicholls, is taking part in the walk on September 27 and is supporting Alzheimer’s Society as one of his charities this year.

He said: "Raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society is a vital way of supporting people living with this condition, and I hope that our contribution will help find a cure once and for all.

"I would love to see us come together for a common cause. I would encourage everyone to put a couple of hours’ time aside to join me for this lovely event – the more the merrier."

A dog show will also take place on the day as well as a cake stall, raffle and face painting.

Hereford Memory Walk takes place in Castle Green starting at 11am.
