A 72-year-old Herefordshire man has been jailed for 20 years at Worcester Crown Court for sex offences against a young girl.
Michael Powell, a tenant of a house on Wallstych Farm, Floodgates, Kington, pleaded guilty to three charges of rape and seven of sexual assault. Prosecutor Gareth Walters said Powell's conduct began with sexy kissing and progressed to oral sex and full intercourse.
Jason Aris, mitigating, said Powell had realised his conduct was wrong and had applied to become a Jehovah's Witness in 1991.
Judge Toby Hooper QC ordered Powell to register as a sex offender for life. He would be on licence when he was released from prison.
