OVER the weekend of the August 15-16, Ross Rotary Club sponsored its third very successful model railway exhibition at John Kyrle High School. This year over 20 layouts were exhibited ranging from the very expensive to the very intricate and the very compact. In addition, 10 traders were in attendance with all aspects of railway modelling available for sale to both the budding and the experienced modeller. Refreshments were available from the "buffet car" which did a roaring and much appreciated trade in home made sandwiches, savoury snacks and cakes.

The many comments and suggestions received from exhibitors, traders and the general public were all very positive, and Ross Rotary hopes the exhibition will continue to be an annual event. There were also enquiries from new modellers who expressed a desire to exhibit at a future exhibition. This year the exhibition raised over £2,000, which will be donated to local charities and good causes.

Ross Rotary sincerely thanks John Kyrle High School for their support and for allowing the event to take place on their premises, the exhibitors and traders for their enthusiasm and the general public and residents of Ross-on-Wye who through their attendance made this event the success it undoubtedly was.

Ross Rotary Club meets every Monday evening 6.30pm for 7pm at the Chase Hotel. Guests and potential members are very welcome. Please visit rossrotary.com.
