LEOMINSTER might not have much in common with New York City but photos of the two very different locations have been combined as part of a charity project.

Photojournalist Jim Wood, from Leominster, is behind a set of unique prints which are being sold to raise money for MedChild International.

The Boston-based charity works to provide medical aid to children in conflict and disaster zones and is holding an online auction, hosted by CNN's Sara Sidner, this month to raise money for itself, R.I.S.C (Reporters Instructed In Saving Colleagues) and the James Foley Fund.

To help with the fundraising, Mr Wood has combined his own photos taken in Leominster and Upton-upon-Severn, with those taken by the charity's CEO in New York, Istanbul, and Boston to create multiple exposures which can now be bought online.

Mr Wood explained: "One of the children they are helping is the same age as my son and it kind of tugged at my heart strings after seeing private footage and images of him after his house in Aleppo was bombed. He lost both his arms. The charity has recently got him out of Turkey, where he had been evacuated to, to Boston USA where his stumps are being treated and he is being fitted up for prosthetics.

"As I felt so impassioned I wanted to do more to help, after turning down an offer to go to Turkey with the charity to do some photos due to my own childcare responsibility as a widowed parent of three, I spoke to the CEO and I came up with this idea."

All money from sales will go directly to MedChild and the prints can be found online at http://jimwoodimages.com/collections/charity-prints
