A COUPLE from Sutton St Nicholas have been celebrating their 60th anniversary.
Frederick and Louisa Tilby were married on July 30, 1955 at Wellington Church and their wedding was on the front page of the Hereford Times.
Last Thursday they celebrated with lunch with family and friends followed by a party the next day.
Mrs Tilby, 82, said it was wonderful to receive a telegram from the Queen to mark their diamond wedding anniversary.
They have two sons Frederick, 59, who is married to Sara, and Andrew, 53, who is with partner Jane.
They have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr and Mrs Tilby went on honeymoon in Torquay. When they returned they first lived in Wellington before moving to Sutton St Nicholas. Mr Tilby, 84, ran a garage in Millbrook Street, Hereford.
Mrs Tilby said: "We do argue every day- it is not really arguing- we say what we want to say.
"We just say our piece and then it is forgotten. We don't have stony silences.
"We also laugh a lot- there is something to laugh about every day."
