HEREFORD FC's Bank Holiday clash with Westfields is to be an all-ticket tie.

The Midland Football League Premier Division derby match will be played at allpay park at 3pm on August 31.

Westfields chief executive Andy Morris said it is the first time in the club's history that they will have played an all-ticket match.

Discussions have been held with West Mercia Police and the club will be holding risk assessments before announcing the official capacity for the game.

Westfields had previously been given a figure of 1,500 but had never come close to welcoming that many supporters to the ground.

Tickets, priced at £7 for adults and £5 for concessions, are expected to be sold from Hereford's Edgar Street stadium by Westfields personnel.

Westfields will also need to hire 20 stewards and a head of security for what will undoubtedly be the biggest match in the club's 49-year history.

But Mr Morris is confident the club will be able to cope with demand and ensure local football fans have a day to remember.

"Negotiations are continuing with many groups including the police, Hereford FC and catering firms," he said.

"There is a lot to do but I'm sure it will be worth it for both the supporters, players and everyone associated with the two clubs."

Westfields continue their preparations for the league season tonight when they entertain Slimbridge at allpay park in the HFA Invitation Cup Final. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
