AN explanation has been given as to why bins from neighbouring homes are collected on different days.
The bins from the 10 houses at Robin Terrace on Barrs Court Road in Hereford are collected on Monday from behind their back gardens in a cul-de-sac which joins up with Pullmans Close.
But the residents who live in the 15 homes on Pullmans Close have their bins collected two days later on a Wednesday, leaving some householders baffled as to why.
A spokesman for Herefordshire Council said: "The rounds were designed by our contractor FCC Environment, a well renowned company providing domestic refuse collection services to many UK councils."
They said properties in Robin Terrace fall adjacent to the boundary between two rounds and added: "There will always be boundaries and overlaps on routes which are sometimes unavoidable and moving the boundary of collection would only move the cross over to another location."
