A LEOMINSTER business raised more than £10,000 for two county causes when it celebrated 25 years of hair and beauty at a gala evening.

Jazz Hair, based on Burgess Street, was founded in 1990 by Cathy Williams and her husband Harvey, born out of a desire to create a salon that would provide great service whilst being 'truly creative, revolutionary, and at the forefront of hairdressing' in Herefordshire.

Since then, the business has grown from a team of three to nine and has moved from its original Chapel Walk location to Burgess Street.

To celebrate 25 successful years, the business held a gala evening at Westfield Farm in Kingsland.

And the evening, which included an auction, raised £11,500 for St Michael's Hospice and All Angels' Church, Kingsland.

Commenting on the evening's success, Cathy said: "I thought it was brilliant. I thought it was really enjoyable to see 300 people in the tent on the nicest evening of the year. All the models were brilliant and they all enjoyed it.

"I think to be able to say that we can give something back to the church or the hospice

is amazing too."

She praised her team who are often complimented by customers as a 'lovely' group of girls and said she still has the desire to do as well as she can.

She added that she was grateful to all those who made the evening such a success.
