EARLY July sees Shuttifield Cottage a blaze of colour as roses bloom in the large rose garden and varieties of climbers spread 30 feet high over trees leading into the 20 acre wood where signed paths welcome visitors to walk in the cool of the trees. Leading down to the rose garden are lawns and a succession of beds and borders containing interesting shrubs and flowers designed to give colour throughout the year. Walk in the small deer park and hope to see the sika deer resplendent in their summer coats. Enjoy tea under the thatched shelter and inspect the vegetable garden and the extensive array of plants for sale.

The garden is open on this Saturday and on August 29 from 1.30pm to 5pm.

To find it take the signed turning opposite Storridge Church on the A4103 or look in the National Garden Scheme yellow book or at the website ngs.org.uk.
