PAGGIE Jones, volunteer at The Shop at Bromsberrow suggested a new scheme to ensure that the external area of the shop looks pretty and inviting. The 'adopt a planter' idea has been enthusiastically received by staff members who have chosen their own tub, planted it and will ensure it is maintained throughout the seasons. There are no prizes, just an ongoing commitment to keep it looking nice. Volunteer Jan Long said, "I think it is a terrific idea and although I am hopeless at gardening, I have filled my planter with geraniums, fuchsias, pansies and two clematis...oh yes and I found a little sign which says 'Jan's garden'. We make a huge effort to keep the interior of the Shop spotlessly clean and attractive, so why not the outside as well? I think many businesses could benefit from this idea, and a good example of this are the shops in Ledbury."
