A TOTAL of 1,000 people have now seen the film, 'Five Years in the Fifties' as it travelled across Herefordshire with screenings in five different venues.

The film, a compilation from the huge archive of Frank Dale, all taken in the 1950s when an accident curtailed his riding activities, was funded by a £25,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and produced by Hereford's Rural Media Company.

It was enhanced by original music played live by a trio of classical musicians and a specially written poem performed by local actor, David Thomas.

A new DVD incorporates the film, music and poem as well as filmed interviews with local people who remember the times.

The DVD costs £10 and will be available to buy at Cawley Hall, Eye, on Friday June 12 between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

A strawberry tea will be served and the film will be shown on the big screen after an introduction by Adrian Lambert.

The screening is free and everyone is welcome. Call 01568 615836 for more information.
