VIDEO footage has been recorded showing how close a car came to being in a head-on collision while overtaking a horse on a rural county road.

Michael Preedy was driving slowly behind his partner who was walking with her horse on the B4352 at Madley when he caught on camera the moment another motorist overtook them and only narrowly avoided being in collision with a car driving in the opposite direction.

Mr Preedy said he had an amber beacon flashing on his roof to warn other drivers as well as hazard lights and a horse plate.

The date and time shown on the video are incorrect and had not been properly set before the footage was filmed on Sunday.

Police have confirmed they are looking into the report and are reviewing posts and comments made on social media.
