A MAN arrested over an allegation of serious sexual assault on Castle Green, Hereford, is now "no longer a suspect".
The 17-year-old victim was formally interviewed by detectives yesterday.
This morning, police confirmed that her account requires "further investigation".
A 28-year-old man arrested on Wednesday over the allegation was initially released on police bail.
He has subsequently been released from that bail and is no longer considered a suspect.
The teenager was found by an ambulance crew in Capuchin Lane, Hereford, after a 999 call reported a young woman collapsed and unconscious there just before 1am on Wednesday.
She was taken to Hereford County Hospital where the sexual assault allegation was made.
The attack is alleged to have occurred in an area close to the Castle Green toilets, which was sealed off as a crime scene for much of Wednesday.
