KNIGHTON skate park committee, Knighton Phoenix, have installed two new picnic benches and chairs to the BMX/skate park this week.
The benches were paid for by money raised by continual fundraising events and local sponsors TRG, Ludlow Road, Knighton.
On behalf of the committee Lynsey Price said: “We would also like to thank Knighton Town Council and Powys County Council for their continued support as well as all those local people who have given their time to help maintain the area. The committee are often asked why they are still fundraising; we do so to improve the area and pay for the ongoing costs including the lease, RASPA inspections, general maintenance and promotional material.”
The committee have two fundraising events coming up, the first will be a cake sale at Brookside Square, Knighton on Saturday morning and the second will be a car wash at Martin Neary’s 4x4 garage on Crabtree Walk, Knighton on the morning of June 27.
