CHILDREN and adults alike were out to enjoy all the fun of the fair in Leominster last night.

The traditional fair visits Leominster's streets for the 25th time between Thursday and Saturday.

It features a mixture of white-knuckle rides, food stalls, games, family-friendly rides.

Even town councillors took part in the fun when the fair opened last night.

Councillor Pauline Davies, who led a campaign to move the fair to the streets after it was held in a town centre car park for some years, said after the event was opened: "It was a wonderful day. The sun shone all the way. It was opened by the mayor, Brigadier Peter Jones, and I gave a speech as I was responsible for returning it to the streets in 1990 after a petition was launched."

She added that the Morris family, who bring many of the rides to the town, had always been 'fantastic' and there had been little to no trouble at the popular event.

Leominster Town Council is currently negotiating with Herefordshire Council to take over the management of the fair.
