KEY sets of traffic lights through Hereford are “out of sync”.
Engineers are working on a solution that gets the city’s SCOOT system working again.
SCOOT which synchronises lights between ASDA roundabout and Blueschool Street went wrong yesterday (Tues) afternoon causing delays.
Herefordshire Council has confirmed that SCOOT is still “out of sync” today (Wed).
As yet, there is no time estimate by when the lights will be synchronised again as delays continue.
In a statement the council said: “Balfour Beatty, on behalf of Herefordshire Council, is aware that drivers in Hereford city are currently experiencing traffic delays.
"The computerised system managing traffic flows has gone down and whilst we are working to repair as soon as we can, there will be unavoidable delays. We apologise for the inconvenience and ask the travelling public to be patient and drive with consideration whilst we coordinate repairs as soon as we can.”
