A 42-YEAR-old man pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly after swearing at police.
Hereford Magistrates Court heard that Michael Ellis of Springfield Avenue, Hereford was drinking with a group of eight males in Gaol Street on April 8.
As officers approached them at around 10.30pm, Ellis shouted expletives at the police and he was arrested.
Matthew Lewis, defending, said Ellis was given a caution in May last year for a similar offence.
There was some concern about his drinking, but the help available was limited, he said.
He was homeless at the time of the offence but has now got a more stable home life as he has got back together with a former partner.
The magistrates gave Ellis a conditional discharge for six months. He was ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and costs of £85.
