LEDBURY'S MP, Bill Wiggin says he supports spending at least two percent of Britain's GDP on defence.
Mr Wiggin spoke in the House of Commons last week when the Secretary of State for Defence, Michael Fallon MP, delivered a statement on the Falkland Islands Defence Review.
Bill Wiggin MP said: βIt is vital for the safety of our country that our defence forces are properly funded.
I fully support the commitment to spend at least 2% of GDP on the Defence budget and our armed forces."
Mr Wiggin added: "In the House of Commons I told the Secretary of State that I had received a book from the Argentinian Ambassador who said the Falkland Islanders did not have the right to self-determination.
"I will back the Government increasing the defence budget or doing whatever it takes to ensure the Falkland Islands retain their right to self-determination and remain a British territory, as they wish to do.Indeed I would support the Government if they wished to increase the percentage of spending on defence.β
