LEDBURY appears to have escaped serious damage during the high winds of Tuesday morning.
Police and Herefordshire Highways attended a fallen tree incident at 2.10am, in Lower Road, but the tree was soon removed.
Storm damage was a different matter elsewhere in the county. Police logged over 20 fallen trees in Herefordshire.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service reported no incidents in the Ledbury area, due to high winds; but considerable damage took place to the north of the county and in Hereford itself.
Some telephone lines were reported to be down in the city, at 7.30am. They were made safe by Firefighters and left in the charge of BT engineers.
A tree came down near Lyonshall, between Kington and Leominster, and also damaged telephone lines.
